The star has donated the complete sum of his £25,000 honor winnings to the trust for venues, which functions to preserve the United Kingdom's small concert spaces.

Since the start of 2023, at least 150 of these locations have shut down – about 16 percent of the entire UK sector.

In the last year, major artists like the band Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all backed the trust in its attempts to help venues survive, by applying a small levy to their ticket prices, which goes to help independent venues.

He also took part, collecting in excess of £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to assist numerous small stages across Britain.

These funds helped venues that were facing possible closure due to difficulties stemming from water damage, fires and personal losses, as well as regulatory hurdles, conflicts and neighbor objections.

Some locations received monetary aid in upgrading infrastructure and technical equipment that helped artists and fans.

"The concept that revenue from performances in major spaces backs the independent spots, where it begins for artists like me, is just logical," Sam Fender has stated.

"Receiving the award was quite enough," said artist Heather Small. "The prize was the cherry on top but we didn't require the bonus, because we had the main prize. So our winning touched somebody else's life."

Last week, the Music Venues Trust shared it had saved a couple of local spots in south-east England, by bringing them into community ownership.

One venue in the city and the second in Bristol were acquired under the public acquisition scheme, which is supported by the arts council and music fans who acquire "shares" in the venues.
